Ocean View Church of Christ
What we believe
The Ocean View Church of Christ is a nondenominational body of Christians that is part of the great movement to restore the church in the New Testament by . . .
wearing New Testament names;
"The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch" (Acts 11:26)
"... All the churches of Christ send greetings." (Romans 16:16)
believing the New Testament doctrine;
"You are the Christ, the song of the living God ... on this rock I will build my church." (Matt. 16:16, 18)
practicing New Testament conversion;
"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:16)
"Repent and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins ... " (Acts 2:38)
by doing New Testament work;
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you ..." (Matt. 28:19, 20)
by imitating New Testament Worship;
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42)
by pleading for New Testament unity;
"I pray ... that all of them may be one; ... so that the world may believe that you have sent me." (John 17:20, 21)
"... that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions amoung you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought." (1 Cor. 1:10)
by adhering to New Testament dicipline;
"All scripture is God-breathed and is usefulfor teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness ..." (2 Timothy 3:16)
